As the first half went on, the home team kept trying to break through, but Bernardo gave Christian Ilzer’s team another fantastic chance when his downward header went just short of the goal. Bayern, who had won seven and lost three of their past ten away league games, was happy to be tied and tried to establish a footing in the match before halftime. Oliver Baumann denied Lennart Karl and Nicolas Jackson a couple of half-chances, but Kane was undisputed as the talismanic striker converted Karl’s low corner with an incredible first-time finish in the 44th minutes.

After Albian Hajdari handled in the box, Kane scored his 12th goal of the season by sending the  penalty into the bottom-right corner in the 48th, giving Vincent Kompany’s team a great chance to double their lead.

Bayern maintained their control over the game with a commanding two-goal lead, and Luis Diaz came very close to scoring a rapid third.

However, it was only a matter of time until the visitors increased their lead, as Kane took over from the spot to finish his hat-trick with a forceful strike into the top corner after Michael Olise was taken down in the box.

Despite Vladimir Coufal’s deflected free-kick giving the home team a response, Bayern easily won the last few minutes and added a fourth goal through Serge Gnabry’s angled finish to take a five-point lead at the Bundesliga.
